Description
Ludwell Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1614, marked by the initials AE RA on the lintel. It is constructed from sandstone and limestone rubble, featuring quoins and ashlar dressings, and has a stone-flagged roof. The building has two storeys and consists of five bays, with a left extension that has two higher storeys and one bay.
The third bay contains a square-headed surround with a broach-stopped chamfer, which frames a 20th-century four-panel door; there is a blank space above this door. The fenestration is irregular, with all windows being renewed sashes or horizontal sliding sashes that include glazing bars, flat stone lintels, and either flat or projecting stone sills. There is a four-panelled door located to the left of the wide, set-back right bay, which is in a pecked stone surround, featuring pecked sills and lintels in this bay. Some windows are blocked and are partly obscured by pointing carried out around 1984.
