Description

The Garner tomb, located approximately 2 metres south of the Baptist Chapel in Hamsterley, dates from around 1758 and commemorates Reverend Isaac Garner, a Baptist minister, along with members of his family until 1833. This headstone is made of sandstone and stands about one metre high. It features a shaped top with a drip string above a foliage carving in the upper panel. The inscription is well-cut. The tomb is included in the register for its historical significance.
