Description

The Lockey headstone, located 1.5 metres south of the Church of St. Romald, is a small sandstone headstone dating from 1745, commemorating Henery Lockey. It features a moulded swan-neck top supported by consoles, with a prominent relief of a bearded head and scaly wings on either side. The headstone has a recessed panel flanked by pilasters, which is inscribed with the following text: "Here lies ye body of Henery Lockey who departed this life Dec: ye ... 1745. Aged 93."
