Description
The building consists of staff rooms and store rooms, with its original use not known. It dates from the medieval period and later. The structure is made of squared sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings, and the roof is covered with pantiles and three rows of stone slates at the eaves. It is two storeys high, featuring five bays and a two-bay extension on the left.
The second bay has a boarded door with a five-paned overlight beneath a wooden lintel, although the block jambs have been partly removed. There is a chamfered Tudor-arched door head approximately one metre above the current ground level on the left, which is now blocked, as well as a blocked stone-mullioned window to the right of the door at the present ground level. The two right bays have been obscured by rebuilding that occurred around 1970. A vehicle entrance is located on the left under a loft opening, and there are horizontal sliding sash windows with flat stone lintels to the right of these.
Inside, the roof features upper crucks that have been revealed for display. The left extension is included in the listing because it is integral with the medieval part of the building.
