Description
This is a range of six outbuildings located approximately 25 metres south-west of Number 42 in Middleton in Teesdale, dating from the early 18th century. The buildings are constructed of coursed sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings and feature a stone-flagged roof with a stone ridge. They are single-storey and consist of eight bays. Each bay has flat lugged surrounds to boarded doors, except for the second and seventh bays. The first bay includes a sliding removable panel. The second bay has a horizontal sliding sash window with glazing bars, while the seventh bay features a 19th-century light with glazing bars and an opening transom. The roof is topped with a square ridge chimney, which has a string course to the left of the seventh bay. These outbuildings are included for their group value.
