Description
The walled garden located to the north of Hill House is likely from the early 19th century. It features garden walls made of sandstone rubble that are brought to course. The north wall is approximately 40 metres long and 2 metres high, with a pair of centrally-placed wrought-iron gates from the mid-20th century. The east and west walls are about 30 metres long and 1.5 metres high, and they are ramped where they meet the north wall. The west wall includes ten small square openings with dressed jambs, lintels, and sills, which likely housed heating apparatus. This structure is included for its group value.
