Description
The pump house, located 18 metres west of High Green Farmhouse, dates from around 1829, with the wood water pump inside also dated 1829. It is constructed of dressed sandstone and features a stone-tiled roof along with a wood and iron pump.
This small, square-plan pump house has a low plinth and a boarded door on the west side. There is a ground-level stone water spout on the north side and a 4-pane casement window on the east side. The roof is low-pitched and hipped to the north. The pump includes a lead panel inscribed with "T.D. 1829."
An attached barn to the south is not of special interest. The pump house is included for its group value.
