Description

The walls and piers in front of numbers 30 and 32 on Front Street in Burnopfield are Grade II listed structures, dating from around 1840. These walls and piers enclose the gardens of the houses and are constructed from sandstone rubble and brick, featuring ashlar coping and ashlar piers.

At number 30, there are quadrant rubble walls that flank renewed steps on the left, which are situated between upper square chamfered piers with chamfered coping. There is also a square pier with low pointed coping at the front of the right quadrant, adjacent to the front rubble wall that has round coping.

Number 32 features rubble front walls that are ramped on the left and topped with flat stone coping. It has three square piers with low pointed coping, two of which flank central steps, while one is located at the right end. Additionally, there is a ramped brick wall between the gardens that also has flat stone coping.
