Description
No. 55 on South Street is a house built in the mid-18th century. It features English garden wall bond brickwork with a painted ashlar plinth and dressings, topped by a Welsh slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays, with the right bay being wider. The entrance, located in the second bay, consists of a four-panelled door with an overlight, framed by an architrave. Above this is a wedge stone lintel and a prominent cornice. The house has similar lintels and projecting stone sills for late 19th-century sash windows set in moulded boxes. A two-brick band runs along the first floor. The steeply-pitched roof is finished with end brick chimneys.
