Description
The Governor's House, located to the east of Crown Court, is a house that was later linked to the court in the 19th century. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and has a Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring four bays. In the second bay from the left, there is a door with shaped panels and an overlight set within a stone classical doorcase. The ground-floor windows are in square bays, while the first-floor windows are framed by architraves with bracketed sills, all of which are original sashes. The house has a stone moulded and modillioned eaves cornice and a mansard roof, which may have been altered, with a 20th-century dormer. To the right, there is a two-storey blank link that is two bays wide, with a parapet front, connecting to the Court building. This structure is included for its group value.
