Large manor house. Late C16-early C17, restorations in 1854 and major rebuilding/restoration scheme in 1911 byA.C. Martin. Sandstone rubble with dressed quoins; sandstone flag roof; ashlar stacks. Altered U-plan with additions to right of garden front.

Garden front of 2 storeys + attics (except for 3-storey right wing). 3 main sections, the outer ones gabled projecting wings, the right wing deeper. Gabled centrepiece to main block, which has scattered fenestration and a C20 door at left. 2- and 3-light stone mullioned windows, some with transoms; mainly restored. Some C20 leaded glazing, some hoodmoulds. Gables have stone copings and kneelers; ball finials on wings. In left inner return a projecting offset stack. Similar fenestration on other facades. 2-storey, 3-bay addition of-1911 to-right has three hipped, stone-tiled dormers. 2-storey, 11-bay entrance front, mainly rebuilt, has central 2-storey porch and end wings. Moderately-pitched roof; conjoined and corniced C19 ridge stacks.
