Description
The terrace wall to the south of Mortham Tower is likely from the 19th century and includes fragments from the medieval period. It is constructed of coursed rubble and stands 1.5 meters high, extending south from the southeast range of Mortham Tower, with a short return that connects to the garden wall on the east. In the center of the wall, there is a double flight of stone steps. At the southwest corner, there is a re-set 13th-century moulded jamb, which probably originated from Egglestone Abbey. Additionally, to the north of the steps, there is a fragment of a 13th-century cross slab.
