Description

The Sayer headstone, located 10 metres south of the Church of St. Romald, is a small sandstone headstone dating from 1759. It commemorates George Sayer. The headstone features an overhanging top above a wide cornice, adorned with a series of six diminishing scrolls. The inscription reads: "Here lies the Body of George the son of George and Isabel Sayer who died April ye 5th 1759 in the 4th year of his age."
