Description
This milestone, located approximately 300 metres east of the junction with Billy Lane, dates from the early 19th century. It is made of painted ashlar and stands as a square tooled block about half a metre high, topped with a low domed pyramid. The milestone is set diagonally to the road, with tooled frames surrounding the inscriptions "EDGE 2 1/2" on the west face and "MIDN 7" on the east face. Additionally, there is an Ordnance Survey bench mark on the east face.
