Description

A substantial house, originally three dwellings, formerly St. Colette’s Infant School, dating from the early 18th century and altered later. The exterior is roughcast and painted masonry with a Welsh slate roof and rendered brick stacks. It is arranged over three storeys and comprises three bays for number 15 and six bays for numbers 16 and 16A. Number 15 has a low plinth and raised, chamfered quoins to the left side, a part-glazed 4-panel door with a 2-pane overlight, possibly under a lintel inscribed with the initials "IS" and the date 1712. An early 20th century canted bay and a late 20th century garage door are on the left side. Numbers 16 and 16A feature a 6-panel door with a 3-pane overlight in a raised, moulded surround to the second bay from the right, flanked by bowed 16-pane sashes within raised and moulded surrounds. The first and second floors have windows in raised surrounds, with number 15 featuring 4-pane sashes, where the intermediate glazing bars have been removed, and numbers 16 and 16A featuring renewed 4-pane sashes. The low-pitched roof has a left-hand gable and central ridge stacks.
