Description
Romaldkirk Hall is a large house built around 1840, constructed from squared sandstone rubble with a Welsh slate roof and stone chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and four bays, featuring a slightly projecting, cross-gabled third bay. It has a low plinth and flush quoins. A flat-roofed solid porch projects from the second bay, which includes a 4-centred chamfered doorway and a pair of 2-panel doors. The windows are 12-pane sashes set in chamfered flush surrounds with projecting sills. The cross-gabled bay has two ground-floor windows and one above, with the gable featuring a 6-pane fixed light, elongated kneelers, and a ball finial at the apex. The main roof has coped gables and elongated kneelers, along with stepped, conjoined, and corniced end and ridge stacks. The hall holds an important position within the village.
