CROXDALE AND HETT CROXDALE HALL NZ 2737 17/52 South courtyard range and cottage, to east of Croxdale Hall GV II

Range of ancillary buildings and cottage. Late C17 with C19 alterations. Coursed sandstone rubble; Welsh slate roofs and brick chimney stacks. 2-storey linear range of 3 linked parts: 2-bay section at right adjoining rear of hall (q.v.); taller, wide 3-bay centre; 2-bay cottage at left. Single-storey, 3-bay lean-to across junction of right section and centre block. Mainly C19 ground-floor openings with boarded doors and replaced sashes. Centre section retains chamfered, Tudor-arched doorway and double-chamfered window surround with central mullion removed. Right bay of cottage has fielded 6-panel door in identical doorway. Small 2-light mullioned windows above, 2 on cottage and 3 on centre block. Steeply-pitched roofs, higher in centre. Cottage roof hipped at left. Mainly rebuilt end and ridge stacks. Lean-to range has two 12-pane horizontal-sliding sashes and low pent roof. Blocked original openings and C19 sashes on rear. Included for group value.
