Description
This is a two-storey cottage with a reed thatched roof featuring a decorative blocked ridge. The exterior is made of coursed rubble with some random terracotta tile. The cottage has an "E" plan layout and presents a picturesque appearance with multi-paned casement windows and painted planked timber doors. There are two axial ashlar chimneys and one lateral chimney, which is a large red brick structure rising from an ashlar base next to the front door, complete with chimney pots. The lateral chimney stack has a crest, likely that of the Haig family. The second chimney is made of coursed rubble and also has pots. On the left side of the front elevation, there is a catslide roof that includes a small pair of casement windows and a boarded door. The design features both gabled and hipped ranges, as well as pent roof dormers.
Inside, the cottage has a simple interior that has been recently modernised. The ground floor includes planked doors and a large "inglenook" style fireplace with an oak mantle shelf in the main reception room, which has a simple plaster border on the ceiling. The second reception room contains a small brick chimney located in the corner.
