Description
1 Cross Street is a two-storey double depth house dating from the early 19th century, featuring a rendered front, likely over local rubble stone, and a Welsh slate roof. The ground floor has been modified to include a shopfront, which features slightly bowed shop windows with a central door and cornice. The stall-risers and windows have been reconstructed, replacing the original small panes with 2 x 2 panes on either side of the door. To the left of the door is a pilastered door case with a rectangular fanlight. The first floor has two windows with 6 over 6 pane sashes. The building has timber eaves and a low pitch roof with end stacks, although the left-hand stack is likely part of The Olde Bull. The rear elevation has been altered and includes late 20th century features. The ground floor shop lacks historic features, and the interior was not accessible during the resurvey.
