Description
The building at 19 Cross Street is a two-storey structure built from local rubble stone, which has been rendered on the main elevation. It features a Welsh slate roof with red ridge tiles and a red brick chimney stack. The layout is a double depth central entrance plan, with a shopfront located on the right side of the facade.
On the ground floor, there is a 6 over 6 pane sash window, a plain doorway, a 2 x 2 pane casement window, and a small mid-19th century shopfront that includes three 2-pane windows set within a panelled architrave. Above, there are two plain 6 over 6 sash windows. The roof has a low pitch and includes a stack on the right gable, along with a single-storey lean-to addition. The rear garden features a deep stone-lined well, approximately 1.5 meters in diameter.
Inside, the ground floor is largely open plan at the front and includes a spiral staircase. There is evidence of 18th-century origins in the stonework, particularly in the rear wall of the front area. The roof structure is mostly intact and dates from the late 18th to early 19th century.
