Description

Porth-y-mynde is a wall and entrance gates of Caer Cottage, constructed from squared local red sandstone and conglomerate rubble. The wall stands about 6 meters high and is approximately 12 meters long. It features large and small four-centred archways that are outlined in dressed sandstone and have keyed heads. The larger archway, known as Porth-y-mynde, includes plank double gates with strap hinges, while the smaller foot arch has a plank door. The wall extends the full distance between Nos 15 and 16 and rises to the height of their eaves. The interior face of the wall has not been seen.
