Description
The derelict cottage at Lodge Farm is built from local rubble stone and has a corrugated asbestos roof. It is designed in an L-shape, with one section running east-west and the other north-south, both being single storey, although the rear wing is taller. The front elevation facing the house features a gabled section on the right, which is the end of the rear wing. This section includes a doorway with a plank door, an oak lintel, and jambs that show some brick repairs. To the left, there is a plain plank door and a camber-headed three-light casement window. The roof is plain and lacks any visible chimneys.
The other sides of the cottage are covered in thick ivy, making them difficult to describe.
Inside, only partial details were observed during the resurvey, and visibility is limited. There are no internal floors visible. A sawn timber partition bears the date 1890. The roof structure consists of principal rafters for both sections, with two tiers of purlins and a ridge piece, although only a few timbers have been replaced.
