Description
36 Monmouth Road is a two-storey building with a basement, constructed with a fully rendered and painted exterior, likely over brick, and topped with a Welsh slate roof and red brick stacks. The building features a single depth central entrance plan and has a small rear wing on the right. It is attached on the left to No. 34 Monmouth Road, which faces Station Road.
The front facade has three windows, with the central bay slightly projecting and featuring a pediment at the eaves level. There is a central square-headed porch with imposts and a panelled door above which is a transom light. This porch is flanked by 6 over 6 pane sash windows, while the upper floor windows are modern. All windows have stone cills, but only the first-floor central window has an architrave. The roof has a low pitch with a small pediment above the central bay, and there are gable stacks, with the left stack shared with No. 34. Along the street front, there are plain wrought iron spearhead railings. The rear elevation has not been inspected, and the interior was not inspected during the resurvey.
