34 Cross Street

Nos. 34 and 36 Cross Street are two-storey buildings with roughcast rendered and painted exteriors and a natural slate roof, indicating that they are at least partly timber framed. The rectangular block is aligned with the street and has modern extensions at the rear. The front facade features three windows in total, with two on No. 36 and one on No. 34.

No. 34 has a late 20th-century shopfront with a door to the left. The shop door is glazed in small panes and includes a stall-riser and a three-light display window, with a return to the right that supports the jetty. Above this is a steel casement window. No. 36 has a plain plank door for the house entrance on the right, with a recessed 20th-century small-paned shop window and door to the left. There are two 6 over 6 pane casements above. The roof is steeply pitched and shows a slight separation in the center.

At the rear, both buildings have single-storey flat-roofed 20th-century extensions, with modern casements above in the wall. No. 36 features a large lateral stack for the hall. The roof of No. 34 is slightly lower and steeper in pitch than that of No. 36.

Inside, chamfered cross-beams supported by the jetty beam are visible in the ground floor shop, but the rest of the interior was not inspected during the resurvey.
