Description
Nos. 34 and 36 Cross Street are two-storey buildings with a roughcast rendered and painted exterior and a natural slate roof, indicating that they are at least partly timber framed. The buildings are arranged in a rectangular block that runs parallel to the street, with modern extensions added at the rear.
The front facade features three windows in total, with two for No. 34 and one for No. 36. No. 34 includes a late 20th-century shopfront with a door on the left. The shop door is glazed with small panes and has a stall-riser, along with a three-light display window. There is a return to the right that supports the jetty, with a steel casement window above. No. 36 has its house doorway on the right, featuring a plain plank door. To the left, there is a recessed 20th-century small-paned shop window and door. Above, there are two six-over-six pane casement windows. The roof is steeply pitched and shows a slight separation in the center.
The rear elevation has single-storey, flat-roofed 20th-century extensions on both sides, with modern casement windows above in the wall. No. 36 has a large lateral stack in the hall. The roof of No. 34 is slightly lower and has a steeper pitch compared to No. 36.
The interior was not inspected during the resurvey.
