Description

The Double Limekiln is a Grade II listed structure built from red sandstone rubble, primarily in thin courses, though it also features some larger stones along with carefully constructed quoins and arches. This rectangular, battered building contains a double kiln. It has semi-circular arched fireholes with a central pier and part corbelled roofs. Above the arches is a drip, and there is an apparently rebuilt parapet that rises to the charge holes above. The openings have corbelled heads, and the draught holes appear to be blocked.
