Description
Hostry Cottage is a small estate cottage built in the late 19th century. It is constructed of rubble stone with some ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with a tile ridge and brick end stacks. The northwest front is symmetrical and two-storey. The window openings have skewback lintels with stone voussoirs, angled dripstones with dropped and returned ends, and stone sills. The first floor contains three 6 over 6 pane casements. On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century boarded entrance doorway in the center, flanked by similar 6 over 6 casements on each side. There is a 20th-century flat-roofed extension attached to the right end gable, and a boarded lean-to with a slate roof attached to the left end gable. The building was not seen at the time of the resurvey.
