Description

Beaufort Pond Dam is a structure built in the early 20th century by the County Council. It is made of rubble sandstone walling, with the parapets being more carefully squared to accommodate heavier road traffic. On the upstream side, there are four low arches with elliptical heads that serve as sluices, while the downstream side features the spillways from these sluices. Currently, the dam maintains a water head of 2 to 2.5 meters. The dam measures approximately 40 meters in length and about 3.5 meters in width at road level.
