Description

The bridge at Penarth Mill is constructed from red sandstone conglomerate rubble, featuring dressed voussoirs for its single segmental arch. It has rounded coping stones on the parapet. The abutment walls are sharply splayed to facilitate waggons making a right-angled turn to access the mill, indicating that the bridge may have been reconstructed at the same time as the mill building.
