Description
This Georgian townhouse, located at 10 Old Market Street, is constructed of stone that is rendered with stucco and features a swept slate roof with boarded overhanging sprocketed eaves. It has a reduced part-external stack on the left side and a roughly L-shaped plan. The building stands three storeys high with a basement.
The front facade includes a three-window range of sashes set in reveals, with tripartite windows at the sides. The central window on the first floor has a round-arched head and an oculus above it. The doorcase is adorned with an open pediment, deep panelled reveals, and a fanlight with radial glazing, while the plinth incorporates grilles.
At the rear, there are lower two-storey paired cross wings featuring a round-arched doorway, 12-pane sashes, and a wide panelled side entrance. Additionally, there is a tripartite sash window in the main range at the rear.
