Description
The Three Horseshoes Inn is a 17th-century building with 19th-century alterations, located on a double depth plan. The main elevation is roughcast to resemble stone and is painted, featuring rusticated pilasters and a Welsh slate roof. The inn has two storeys and four windows. A hooded doorway is located in the third bay, leading to a six-panel door. The ground floor windows are tripartite sashes with a configuration of two over two panes flanked by one over one panes, and they have voussoired heads with keystones. The upper floor features plain two over two pane sashes. The building has a dog-tooth eaves cornice made of brick and a low pitch slate roof with brick stacks on either gable. The rear elevation was not inspected.
The structure is only single depth on the street side, with a rear wing and several large modern extensions at the back. This suggests that part of the building may date back to the 17th century, but the roofline is from the 19th century, and the interior has undergone significant rebuilding and alterations, with no older features visible.
