Description
Nos. 18-22 (even) Drybridge Street is a building with rendered and painted elevations, possibly over timber-framing, topped with a Welsh slate roof and rendered stacks. It consists of a three-unit single depth range that runs parallel to the street, with later extensions added to the rear. The building has two storeys and attics, featuring seven windows on the first floor. The ground floor includes three windows and three doors arranged as window, door, window, door, door, window. The doors are six-panel designs, with a spiders-web fanlight above the door at No. 18 and three-pane overlights above the others. The first-floor windows are all six over six pane sashes. The roof is very steeply pitched, featuring three gabled dormers with two over two pane casements, with the one at No. 18 being smaller. There are three stacks, located on the left ridge, on the front slope between Nos. 18 and 20, with one stack truncated on the right gable.
The rear elevation displays a 17th-century wing on the left, which is shared by Nos. 20 and 22, and a lower rear wing for No. 18 that may date from the 19th century. The ground floor tripartite sash window is from around 1900, while the rear elevation has late 20th-century features, except for a 19th-century flat-topped dormer.
The interior was not available for resurvey.
