Description

13 Bank Street is a Georgian townhouse that includes a ground floor shop, with attached buildings on either side. The walls are made of stuccoed rubble, and it has a slate roof featuring a rubble end stack on the right and a tall brick stack on the left. The building is double-fronted and stands three storeys high, with black-painted platbands on the first and second floors, an eaves cornice, and a quoin strip. It has a three-window range of 4-pane sash windows. The shop front on the left is made of plate glass and is flanked by panelled pilasters and consoles decorated with acanthus leaves. To the right, there is a single ground floor sash window. The central doorway, which is similarly enriched, is set back and accessed by two stone steps. The side elevation, which faces downhill, is made of unrendered stone and is corbelled out at the first floor level.
