Description
Victoria Place, located at Nos. 12 and 14 Priory Street, is a semi-detached pair of buildings from the 19th century with rendered and painted elevations featuring chamfered quoins on all corners and a Welsh slate roof. The buildings rise to three storeys and are set at right angles to each other. No. 12 has two windows facing the street and three towards the garden, while No. 14 has three windows to the street and two to the garden.
The street elevation displays five window bays, although all windows on the left side and two on the top right are blind. The remaining windows are double hung sashes, with 8 over 8 panes on the ground floor, 6 over 6 on the first floor, and 3 over 6 on the top floor. There are round-headed doorways with fanlights and panel doors in the second and fourth bays.
On the east side facing Monk Street, there are two window bays, with a small lean-to obscuring part of the ground floor. The west (garden) side features three window bays with a hipped glass roof verandah on the ground floor, supported by six delicate wrought iron panels with a panelled balustrade, and paired French casements leading to the verandah. The eaves are bracketed, and the roof is hipped to both the south and west, with three large brick stacks. The interior has not been seen during the resurvey.
