Description
Glan-y-nant Farm is a former farmhouse dating from the 18th century. It is a single storey with an attic, rendered over stone and topped with a slate roof featuring three chimneys along the ridge. The entrance faces north and includes modern glazing throughout. The façade has three gabled dormers with windows along the eaves and a modern porch over the entrance. There are two ground floor windows to the right of the door and one to the left, with a lean-to structure at the left end.
Inside, the main entrance leads into a lobby beside the fireplace. To the left, there is a room with a joist-beam ceiling, a bread oven located at the rear of the main fireplace, and a smaller fireplace to the left. To the right of the entry is a room with a high ceiling featuring a chamfered beam and joists, some of which were replaced after a fire. This room has a large fireplace with a shaped wooden bressummer and an oven. A later partition wall is present to the left, but there is evidence of a former post and panel partition indicated by a beam above. There is another room with a chamfered beam and joists, showing signs of a former partition in the beam, and a small end fireplace. A later wooden stair is located on the south side of the fireplace. The upper floor roof has heavy curved-foot principal rafters on the west side and a simpler construction on the east side, with modern stud partition walls.
