Description
This is a lime kiln located on the south side of Garth Road. It has a rectangular plan and is built into a bank, featuring walls made of rough rubble stone. The longer northern side has two large kiln-eyes, which are segmental arches constructed with dressed stone voussoirs and short piers at the center and on each side. The crucible of the kiln has been infilled. Restoration work in the 20th century included adding sloping coping to the central pier, a low curving castellated rubble stone wall at the front, metal grilles over the kiln eyes, and flat coping on top of the wall.
