Description
Penallta Colliery Pit-top Offices were built to serve as 'dirty' offices for officials who regularly visited the underground workings. The offices are designed in the same style as the original colliery buildings, constructed from Pennant sandstone that has been rendered, with red brick detailing. This includes dentilled surrounds for the windows and doors, which feature keystones, pilasters, a plinth, and a cornice. The roof, which was originally covered with slate and had ridge tiles, has now been stripped. The building is gabled along a north-south axis and is a single-storey structure, measuring five bays long and two bays wide. The main east-facing elevation has four segmental arched windows and a central door, all of which are now blocked. The gable end features two similar windows and a door. The interior is divided into offices.
