Description

The No. 1 Headframe at Penallta Colliery is a significant structure, being one of the two original headframes for the colliery. Made of rolled steel, it features a four-legged tower that includes two shear legs on the winder side, along with a series of cross braces for added support. The headframe is equipped with two sheaves and has a railed access platform around them, which is supported by curving braces.
