Description

The war memorial in the churchyard of St James in Rudry is designed in the Celtic-cross style and is made of polished granite. It stands on a stepped plinth, with a square base that has tapering sides and a ramped top. The shaft of the memorial is also tapered and features a ring-headed cross adorned with interlace ornament in relief. Engraved in black-painted letters on the shaft and base is a legend that commemorates those who died in the 1914-18 war, along with the names of those who died in the 1939-45 war added to the side of the base.
