Description

The bridge over the Sirhowy River at Gelligroes is a single arch hump-backed structure made of rubble. It features very deep, thin voussoirs that form a wide elliptical arch over the river, which is supported by buttresses at river level. The bridge has parapets with flat coping stones and unequal splayed approaches made of snecked rubble, with part of the approaches stepped at ground level. The roadway is narrow.
