Description

2 The Row is one of a row of four cottages built in 1824 by the Tredegar Estate. The cottages are in a simple Gothic style. They are single-storey and have two windows each, arranged in two pairs that mirror each other. The outer cottages have doorways at the ends, while the inner cottages have doorways in the centre. A small date stone is set between the two central doorways. The windows and doorways have pointed arches and tooled stone dressings. The roofs are hipped and have been covered with replaced pan tiles, and the cottages all have roughcast ridge stacks.

The cottages have been pebble-dashed and painted white. The windows are two-light casements with Y-tracery heads. The front doors are boarded. Originally, the cottages had a two-room plan, although the building was not inspected at the time of the survey.
