Description

4 The Row is a row of four cottages built in 1824 by the Tredegar Estate, designed in a simple Gothick style. These single-storey cottages each have two windows and are arranged as two reflected pairs. The outer cottages feature doorways at the ends, while the inner cottages have doorways in the center. A small date stone is located between the two central doorways. The windows and doorways have pointed heads with tooled stone dressings. The roof is hipped and covered with replaced pan tiles, and each cottage has roughcast ridge stacks.

The walls are pebble-dashed, and the doors and windows have been replaced in their original openings. Although not inspected during the survey, the cottages were originally designed with a two-room plan.
