Description
Hafod-Tanglwys-Isaf is a house that features white-painted render and a steep slate roof with close eaves. It has a 20th-century rebuilt short stack at the left end. The building is one storey with an attic and includes a one-bay section to the left, which has a similar eaves level but a lower ridge. The front door is located at the altered upper end of a demolished barn. All windows were renewed in the late 20th century. The house has a battered base to the walls and a stair projection to the left, which has a tiny window beneath a cemented drip. There is a large 20th-century window to the centre right and a small square window to the right, both featuring a cemented hoodmould above which are two slightly projected stones. The right end wall has a small attic window from the 20th century. The left bay has a door and the remnant of a second door. The left end wall is rebuilt with rubble stone and includes a 20th-century window and door.
At the rear, there is a tiny pair of casement windows under the eaves on the right, with a small casement window on the left and a larger triple casement window in the centre, both having cemented hoods, along with a large 20th-century casement pair to the right. The right bay features a small window under the eaves and a door below.
The interior is not accessible and was modernised around 1996, but it is said to retain a large chimney with winding stone stairs to the left and heavy oak roof trusses with notched lapped collars.
