Description
The outbuilding at Hafod-Tanglwys-Isaf is a lofted stable dating from the 19th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a hipped corrugated iron roof that slopes to the right. The original section of the building has three doors that step downhill and five projecting oak beams that were intended to support a missing pentice roof. The wall beneath the eaves displays the oak ends of two roof trusses.
To the left, there is an added section that shares a single roof with the original part. This section includes a full-height door and a window located in a blocked door, which has a timber lintel above it. Additionally, there is a loft door in the left end wall. The right end wall is higher due to the slope of the land and features a door below with two small 19th-century brick loops above.
Inside the older part of the building, there is an inserted wall. The loft floor is supported by four heavy chamfered beams, and there are two heavy oak roof trusses, each with a pegged collar and apex. The roof of the added left end section is supported by modern pine rafters.
