Description

9-9AB Dynevor Street is a wide, two-storey and basement late Georgian building with a pebbledash exterior featuring a band course and plain margins. The roof is modern and made of pantiles, hipped at the road end, and there are two large stone stacks with moulded cornices. The building has assorted 12-pane sash windows, which are currently boarded, and a small boarded door to No 9a that is accessed by steps. At the far end, there is a lower extension that was formerly a stable and is now roofless. The gable end facing the road has two windows made of rubble, with first-floor cantilevered bay windows and a shop window to the left of the doorway. The southern front has been altered and features four assorted windows with plain margins, and both the glazing and doors have been replaced. There is a brick-walled forecourt.

Inside, the layout retains the original separation between the service area to the west and the family area to the east, with communication only on the ground floor. The interiors showcase good Regency detailing, including exceptional architraves treated as pilasters with paterae, moulded cornices, and segmental, pilastered sideboard recesses. The stone-vaulted cellars, which were divided for prison use, can be accessed by stone stairs and have flagged floors and bed platforms.
