Description
The remains of a chapel and warehouse at the end of Chapel Row date from the 19th century. This two-storey terraced row features taller remains of a polygonal structure at the northern end. The uniform rubble frontage includes some rough dressings, with a continuous slate roof that is hipped at the southern end and has brick stacks. The building has a two-window front, which is wider at the southern end, with cemented reveals beneath voussoir lintels. The windows are modern small-pane sash types, and there are central six-panel doors that are offset to No 5. Low walled forecourts with plain cappings connect to the splayed outer wall of the former chapel or warehouse, which is set forward on the left and has pale quoins and round-arched window openings.
To the west of Chapel Row, there is a reconstructed section of canal featuring the ironwork frame of the relocated Rhydycar Iron Bridge.
