Description
Cefn Railway Viaduct is a significant railway structure built in 1866. It features abutments, tall slender piers, and parapets made from coursed irregular sized rock-faced limestone blocks. The viaduct has fifteen semi-circular brick arches, each constructed with six courses. The piers are adorned with a projecting impost band and two projecting string courses located below the parapets. The structure is built on a gentle arc, measuring approximately 235 meters in length and reaching a maximum height of around 36 meters. An inscription on the south side indicates its builders, Savin and Ward.
