Description
The Cefn Railway Viaduct is a significant railway structure built in 1866. It features abutments, tall slender piers, and parapets made of coursed, irregularly sized, rock-faced limestone blocks. The viaduct is supported by fifteen semi-circular brick arches, each constructed with six courses. The piers have a projecting impost band, and there are two projecting string courses located below the parapets. The viaduct spans approximately 235 meters in length and has a maximum height of around 36 meters. An inscription on the south side notes its builders, Savin and Ward.
