Description
Zion Chapel, also known as Capel Seion, features a striking three-bay Neo-Classical facade that is pedimented and constructed from coursed ashlar. The outer bays have a blocking course, and the building is adorned with a moulded cornice, wide pilasters at the center, banded quoins, and a sill-band. The hipped slate roof includes a ventilator. The facade has arched windows on the first floor and keyblocked windows on the ground floor, both fitted with fixed small-pane glazing. Above the arched central doorway, there is a recessed tablet flanked by attached Tuscan columns, a glazed fanlight, and double panelled doors. The area is enclosed by railings that sit on a coped stonework terrace.
The side elevations are rendered and feature four windows with sash designs on two levels, showcasing arched upper openings with intersecting glazing bars.
At the left rear, there is a low slated and rubble former school-room that is attached at right angles. This space is accessed via a passage that includes an ironwork gate.
