Description
The Former Stable Block at Gloddaeth Hall is a two-storey building constructed with stone rubble walls and ashlar dressings, featuring a later 20th-century tiled roof. The southern elevation is elegantly designed with five bays, including a lower central section that has a gabled roof, flanked by taller projecting end bays with separate hipped roofs. The slightly projecting central bay has a pediment and a three-light semi-circular lunette on the first floor, with an ashlar band at cill level that is consistent across the entire central wing. The ground floor of the central bay includes a doorway with an ashlar architrave, flanked by modern windows with small panes and altered lintels. Each end bay of the central wing features a square sash window with four panes, an ashlar architrave on the first floor, and a modern window with small panes on the ground floor, along with a modern blockwork porch to the left. The flanking end bays of the building have segmental-headed windows on the first floor with ashlar bands on either side, and modern windows with small panes in ashlar architraves on both floors. The narrow elevation at the southwest end has large modern windows, while the northern elevation consists of a wall of painted stone that is altered and asymmetrical.
The building has been converted for school use, but to the right of the central doorway, there are stalls and a loose box featuring boarded panelling, iron posts with acorn finials, and iron railings.
